Cooperative Coparent Coaching
Coparenting Coaching is for mostly cooperative coparents with very small difficulties or just beginning the divorce process wanting to discover how to work well after the marriage ends. This work does not involve a court order but both parties must be willing to cooperate together and not be involved in high conflict or an active court action or scheduled hearing. Both parties are comfortable meeting together, being in the waiting room, are not ordered to Our Family Wizard and have not had any type of major custodial or financial disagreements nor has there ever been a Temporary Restraining Order issued by either party. (if your coparent will not participate in this process, we highly recommend you see below for Divorce Coaching) Fees are generally split between the two parties for joint sessions unless otherwise agreed.
Divorce Coaching
Whether in person, by phone, or online, divorce coaching provides people going through a divorce to have a place to reflect on their life situation, process and deescalate feelings, be empowered through education that they will feel hopeful again, and brainstorm about the new decisions they face regarding their future and lives of the children (if applicable).
As a family counselor for over 20 years, Michelle has extensive experience helping individuals work through the grief process and provide the support needed to emotionally self regulate through often very immediate life transitions.
Michelle also can assist parents in a high conflict divorce with learning to interact more productively with a difficult coparent, walking through child custody and psychological evaluations and understanding the mental health dynamics involved and keeping an emotionally self regulated and child centered focus during this difficult experience.
Consulting with an attorney agreement in place is sometimes preferred in this situation over counseling because counseling and billing insurance requires a mental health diagnosis which can sometimes be a hindrance in child custodial scenarios.
Call today to discover how having a consult can provide the education and insight you need to successfully navigate a difficult system.
