Reunification Therapy
Many instances occur where visitation has never occurred or ceased (due to drug use, parent choice, parenting time refusal, etc) and you are court ordered to begin the reunification process. Michelle has worked with numerous families in situations such as these.
The process begins by interviews and an evaluation of all the parties involved and then is generally followed by sessions structured with a quick private check in with the child(ren), then Michelle leads any needed therapeutic discussions, a therapy activity involving both the child and parent then occurs followed with a few minutes of pure supervised visitation. Michelle encourages honest appropriate communication between parent and child and offers parent education on parenting, communication and conflict resolution skills when needed. The favored parent will also be required
***Due to changes in the family code no mental health professional except a court appointed child custody evaluator can make recommendations regarding conservatorship and/or parenting time (visitation).
